Mila had a specific vision when it came to her big day, and I was honored to help support her throughout the design process! As a Betches bride and Tiktok influencer, Mila wanted a show stopping modern-meets-classic wedding day. The couple found me in their search for planners across the country, as Malibu was a destination wedding for them. The East coast couple were ecstatic to celebrate their big day at the beautiful Calamigos Ranch.

Details

This special day involved a lot of creative collaboration for all of the details. To best fit Mila’s vision, we kept colors to black and white to keep the modern feel. Additionally, pearlescent elements such as her satin dress added a chic touch of glamour. The couple’s custom initial logo was branded throughout the event including cocktail napkins, card boxes, cocktail ice cubes, and many more personalized touches.

Ceremony

Calamigos Ranch is a very popular wedding venue in Southern California. I loved the woodsy feel it added to the modern wedding design–it was the perfect blend of chic + California flare! We kept the aisle simple with white rose petals and clustered candles. The bridesmaids wore white as well which was a bold yet fun way to keep the theme consistent throughout the event. After tying the knot, it was time for cocktail hour.

Cocktail Hour

Mila + Alex’s vision involved creating an amazingly entertaining wedding. This included utilizing their cocktail hour to elevate the guest’s experience. During cocktail hour, the couple chose a variety of signature cocktails with plenty of gourmet garnishes. Guests mingled outside on the lawn and got to look for their names on their custom seating chart, which doubled into a modern photo background!

Reception

After cocktail hour, guests headed inside for the reception. The reception carried the modern black + white theme perfectly with a checkered dance floor and bud vases. We LOVED all of the details of this wedding, from the custom menus to the unique fonts throughout the signage.

After dinner, guests danced the night away with the live band while the couple shared sweet moments during their first dance. This modern wedding was a day to remember and it was so fun collaborating with Mila + Alex!
