First things first, you are not alone. My heart goes out to all the couples who are having to think about postponing your wedding or even consider cancelling.

Regardless if you’ve been planning for 2 months, 6 months or over a year- you’ve been looking forward to your wedding day for quite some time. Having feelings of sadness, stress or just feeling plain uneasy is OKAY. However, I want you to know that the best thing you can do is postpone and not cancel.

Why you should postpone and not cancel:

There are many reasons that postponing is the best option over cancellation. Of course, there are the financial reasons like the non-refundable deposits you may have already paid, etc.

Mainly I think through it all it’s important to remember WHY you were planning this day in the first place. Besides wanting to marry the love of your life you had a reason to have a WEDDING. In reality you can go to a courthouse and marry your loved ones within an hour.

However, you wanted a full wedding. This means there was a part of you that wanted to celebrate with your loved ones, enjoy a day full love of and celebration with your partner, wanted photos and video to remember this joyous occasion, wanted to see your vision and hard work come together all on one day.

Through all the uncertainty you still have your partner and it’s important to focus on that.
